Leo is very sweet and curious one year old Pit Bull mix who weighs about 60 lbs. He has had a difficult first year, but things are looking up for him now. Leo has not known the love that he deserves, so he is a little skittish around men, but does well with most women, children, dogs and cats. He was crated for days at a time, so he somewhat resisted returning to his crate in the beginning. Leo is learning that the crate is not a punishment and it’s his safe place to relax…and get a treat! Leo loves to go for walks and is also working on leash etiquette.  He understands some of his basic commands, he is house-trained, neutered and current on his vaccinations. He is also micro-chipped and has received the 6 month heartworm prevention vaccine.  Getting out, going for walks, being in a home and part of a family are the simple things that make him a happy dog.  He cautiously checks out anything new and then he’s okay with it. When you are locked in a crate for most of your life, there are a lot of new things to explore. Leo is less than a year old and is a lower energy dog. He has not been protective of his food or toys. Leo’s ideal home would be with a family who will continue to build his confidence, train him on the things he doesn’t know and show him the love he needs. Leo would enjoy someone to play with and a fenced yard to play in.
