Zade is a 3 year old German Shepherd who weighs in at about 90 lbs. He is in need of a new home; foster or permanent. He is obedience trained and knows his commands and he walks great on a leash and enjoys  1- 1 ½ miles walks a few times a week.  He gets along with other dogs and with cats who are comfortable being around dogs.  He is cautious of new people and needs time to get to know them.  Adopting this dog will require several meetings with him and at least to start with, Zade will be muzzled.  Once Zade is comfortable with someone, he will be protective of them, so it is important that strangers not come onto the property unannounced or walk up to pet him if he’s on a walk.  Zade will require an experienced handler to ensure that he is not put into any situations where he believes he or his family are threatened.  He is current on vaccinations and heartworm negative.  Zade is not a destructive chewer and has not had issues being allowed to roam free in the home.  Zade would need to be crated before visitors enter his home.  He enjoys going for car rides, playing with his toys and being in the company of his family.  Zade’s ideal home would be with a quiet family who will take him for walks/ runs and include him in their daily activities. He would very much like to have a fenced yard and someone to play with. His favorite game is Frisbee. We do not recommend that Zade be in a home with children or teens, who are likely to have friends who drop by to visit.

Note: Zade was recently treated for a hematoma in his left ear, so at least for now, that ear flops over.
