Sassy

Sassy is a tri-colored, long-haired chihuahua ready to be someone’s carry-along companion. We suspect much of her life was spent breeding, but she is thriving in our foster care program.

Most mornings she shadows her person through chores, then heads to Grandma’s while her foster mom is at work. Low-key by nature, she’s happiest near her favorite human, soaking up praise and quiet company, and she’s always up for a car ride.

Though her past is a little fuzzy, her future looks bright! She’s house trained, leash trained, and crate trained (though she’s never really alone long enough to need it). She knows “wanna go for a ride,” “treat,” and “come,” and she aims to please.

She’s friendly with small and large dogs—even cats—and she may bark at them first, then settle in. We haven’t seen her with children yet, but she’s the jealous type, so she may not want a home where your attention is significantly divided.

Light grooming a few times a year will keep her long coat comfy. Sassy manages a heart murmur with vet-prescribed medications, and despite losing most of her teeth, she does well on Hill’s Adult Maintenance kibble, with some canned food mixed in for special occasions.

If you want a pint-sized shadow following you from kitchen to couch and a furry teacup to ride shotgun on errands, Sassy might be the sweetie you’ve been seeking. To be considered, please complete our online adoption application.
